About us

GuateArtisan was founded in 2021 by Alison and Kay, who were both born in South Korea and raised in Guatemala since very young age. Growing up surrounded by the rich culture, vibrant colors, and incredible craftsmanship of our homeland, we developed a deep appreciation for the talented artisans who preserve Guatemala's traditions through their handmade creations.

Our mission is to share the beauty of authentic Guatemalan artisan products with the world while supporting the communities that create them. Every item in our collection is handcrafted by skilled artisans—many of them indigenous women who have inherited traditional techniques passed down through generations. Because each piece is made by hand, no two items are exactly alike, making every creation truly unique and meaningful.

We believe that handmade products tell a story. From colorful Huipil textiles and home décor to authentic Guatemalan jade jewelry, each piece reflects the culture, heritage, and artistry of the people who create it.

At GuateArtisan, we are committed to ethical and sustainable business practices. We support fair trade principles by working directly with artisans, building long-term relationships based on transparency, respect, and fair compensation. Our products are created using traditional methods that minimize waste and celebrate sustainable craftsmanship.

By choosing GuateArtisan, you are not only purchasing a beautiful handmade item—you are helping preserve cultural traditions, support artisan families, and empower indigenous communities throughout Guatemala.

Thank you for supporting authentic handcrafted artistry and for being part of our journey to celebrate the beauty, culture, and spirit of Guatemala.
